Speed Killed My Cousin

A Community Dialogue with the Cast & Female Veterans of Color

Join the creators and cast members from “Speed Killed My Cousin” alongside female veterans, for a community dialogue exploring complexities related to military service and war, and how creative storytelling can foster healing.

About “Speed Killed My Cousin:”

The Carpetbag Theatre brings us a moving story told through the eyes of a third generation, African-American, female veteran of the Iraq War. As the central character contemplates death by vehicular suicide, she struggles with the truths of her experiences and examines a multitude of topics including the history and otherness of veterans of color, women in combat, moral injury, military sexual trauma, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
