Bill T. Jones

As Project Humanities celebrates its first anniversary, choreographer, dancer, and director Bill T. Jones returns for a discussion on the notion of Truth in the Arts. Born in Bunnell, Florida, Jones is best known for his work both on and off Broadway. He co-created and choreographed the musical Fela!, for which he won both the Lucille Lortel Award and the Tony Award for his outstanding choreography. With his late partner, Arnie Zane, he founded the Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane Dance Company. He was one of the five recipients of the 2010 Kennedy Center Honors. He was also inducted into the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame in 2007 and has choreographed hundreds of operas, ballets, and television programs.

This is Jones's second visit to Project Humanities. In his first visit, he spoke about how ideas and knowledge can open your world and help us understand what it means to be human.
