Join us for the first of this year's Race, Arts and Democracy Meet and Greets with Fellows. ASU Professor Christi Jay Wells will be in conversation with CSRD Director Lois Brown about the power of the arts, especially when imagined and deployed in relationship to and because of democracy. 

As Professor Wells says so powerfully, "The arts, at their best, assert and insist upon the truth of human subjecthood—in all its complexity, its joy, and its pain—and demand that we not turn away, in the name of preserving comfort or normalcy, from the work we know deep down we must do."
