The Wild Word
As individuals expand on or disrupt ideas of form and genre, how unreadable are we willing to become? Does this flexibility provide an avenue towards greater freedom of expression in poetry and other forms of writing? How can this be channeled into a tool against what one personally considers negative restrictive forces in our culture today? Together, we will explore these questions through discussions and writing exercises.
Presenter: Anna Flores
na Flores is a writer born in Nogales, Arizona. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in English and a Masters in Creative Writing. Her recent awards and honors include a 2021 Swarthout Award in Writing, a 2021 Center for Imagination in the Borderlands Creative Research Fellowship, and a 2020 Mabelle A. Lyon Poetry Award.
